You have some bittersweet news that you shared with friends and family.
You are moving back to your home state earlier than anticipated! With everything you have involved in remaining online next semester, it makes both financial and mental health sense to move in with your mom for what will hopefully be your final semester of your doctoral studies: less cost-of-living, more daily in-person interaction in place of daily isolation, and your favorite little dog will get two doters and a big backyard.
If you can manage it, you might leave your current home as early as Thanksgiving weekend. So your are hoping that your current local friends to do a porch visit or go for coffee safely sometime before then.
You are certainly going to miss the friends you have made on and around campus, but you think the strangest part this move is knowing that you will likely never meet your current students in person. After an almost entire semester of only meeting online, you were looking forward to sometime getting to meet on campus, if only in an outdoor classroom.
On the positive side, you are excited to spend more time with your mom and you know that living with another person will drastically improve your mental health. You are extremely grateful that you and your mom have a great relationship and that she is so willing to love on me by opening her home, again.
Moving is hard and it is especially difficult in the middle of a pandemic with a billion other things to be anxious about, but you are hopeful that your the Christmas holidays you will be in a better physical and mental space.
The first thing on the list when you get home and have an option of using your mother’s car is to find a reputable car body shop. You have been looking for an option of getting a car fixed since the car accident was settled and the other driver’s insurance agreed to cover the claim, but navigating the whole body shop and rental car process in a big city has been a challenge. Back home when you are able to have more people to ask for advice and perhaps even less of a reason to have to get out and about, you hope that you can find the perfect collision repair and body shop. Fixing the car, it seems, might be the perfect first step toward not only checking that item off your to do list, but also taking control and healing yourself.
The Holidays Are a Challenging Time to Fix a Car
From windshield replacement to the need for a body shop, the latest research indicates that as many as 72% of car crashes result in property damage as well. Knowing where to turn for the needed repairs and fixes, however, is not always easy.
Consider some of these facts and figures about the many auto body shop services many drivers need:
- As many as 90% of stone breaks, including stars, and bullseyes, in windshields never crack and are known in the windshield repair industry as floater cracks.
- Overall, there are six basic types of windshield breaks: combination break, surface pit, half moon, bullseye, crack, and star breaks.
- Nearly 53% of windshield cracks, repairs, and replacements are from a crack that is seven to 12 inches long. The industry classifies these as long crack.
- Weather, negligence, fender benders, and high speed collisions are the four main causes of auto body damage.
- Distracted driving, drunk driving, and speeding are the three most common causes of car accidents in America.
- Accounting for almost 33% of all crashes in 2014, there were nearly 2 million rear end collisions that year alone,.
- With nearly 6 million car accidents in the U.S. every year it should come as no surprise that the best body shops are busier than ever before.
- There are approximately 6 million car accidents in the U.S. each year.
- Unfortunately, a recent survey found that as many as 77% of cars were in need of repairs or maintenance.
Getting your life in order may not seem like it should revolve around the physical act of getting the needed car repair work done on your vehicle, but it can certainly get you on the road to self improvement.
